More Drinking...

By Matt on Wednesday 3 January 2007 at 18:54

It's my birthday on Saturday - I thought I'd give it a few days for you all to recover before mentioning the prospect of another heavy drinking opportunity. Anyways, it would be just super if you could all join me for drinks at an as yet undisclosed location (check back later and I'll have decided). We could even watch the darts if its on in a pub. If anyone's got a better suggestion than that, I'd like to hear it. Even if it involves watching football.

I'm afraid I can't commit to an “all-dayer”, as I will be showing my new bike who's boss during the day. (It's a beast.) If anyone would care to join me for a bike ride, that would also be super. Nothing better than cycling to shed those christmas pounds. Unless the weather is rubbish, in which case I will be in the boozer as soon as the towels are off. How's that for a short-lived new year's resolution?

No toga party I'm afraid, our bathroom is still not finished and I don't think it will withstand the abuse of a party in its current state. Soon, Pablo. Soon. Pub golf might be out too, as that requires dressing up and some amount of advance planning.

After careful consideration, my plan (if you can call it that) is looking like this:

Riding in the afternoon (or a few looseners in one of the locals if it rains). Out for dinner, probably chinese or a curry - everyone is welcome to join us for food, but if you don't fancy it, you can meet us at the pub afterwards for a nice refreshing beer, probably on North Hill and/or Mutley.

Pablo, parts of Haldon are closed due to storm damage - the bermed section and the black run, i.e. all the best parts. We could get dropped off in the middle of Dartmoor and ride home? Or we could go to your woods? Again, that would all be weather permitting.

Anyone up for wearing togas whilst riding?

And does anyone else think that the pub in 'Nice Refreshing Beer' looks suspiciously like the Bowling Green in Exeter?

Happy Birthday Bar! Unfortunately I have already agreed to attend a party in Exeter this Sat but I should be around for a few afternoon 'looseners' if the weather is bad.. which let's face it is very likely in 'sunny' Plymouth!

I would agree to the bike ride but the only bike at my disposal is a real bone shaker and I nearly died the last time I rode it!

I've just checked the weather - “Saturday's predominant weather is forecast to be heavy rain”. So it looks like the riding is off. On the plus side, the all day drinking is now on.
