British Heart Foundation Bike Ride

When was the last time you did something for charity? Who would like to join me on a sponsered ride?

“Join like minded cyclists on our new Devon bike ride on Sunday 18th June 2006.

Put your pedal power to the test and raise sponsorship funds for the BHF on this splendid route through the Devonshire countryside.

The ride is suitable for both families and cycling enthusiasts alike and offers a choice of 7.5 or 25 mile route. However being Devon there are a few hills on both routes - you can always get off and push! If you prefer something more leisurely you can even complete as many laps of the track around the edge of the race course as you wish.

The race starts and finishes from Exeter Race Course, Haldon Hill. Officials will stand down at 4pm. Pre registarion closes on the 9th June, however you can register on the day, registration desks will be open from 8am. The route is fully marshalled and there are refreshment stops around the route."

Let me know what you think. Also, does anyone have any plans for the weekend?

Sounds good. Very virtuous of you Bill. 7.5 mile or the full 25?

As for this weekend, I'm up for some cycling on Saturday. Probably Haldon again but we should get on the black run this time. And do the drop-off. Both of them. In a row. Then hit the jumps...

Anyway, I must remember to bring some snacks this time and maybe get up there early. Anyone else up for that?

If not Haldon, we could always try Cann (near Plympton).

It'll still be fairly warm though, it says sunny spells too. We'll just have to bring spare clothes and get changed after if need be. Besides, I intend to ride so fast that my slipstream keeps the rain off. Possibly.

Pabs, have you sorted your chainring yet? If not, the cheapest I've seen a replacement is £15. Otherwise, try eBay (this one too).

Bill, I got an email back about the parking permit - you get them from the rangers office next to the car park.

I can't ride early on Sat as Liz and I (and anyone up in Exeter from Fri night) are going into town. Liz is buying some jeans and I'm gonna get some gloves. You're welcome to come up for a curry tonight, Bar.

Having said I would probably come up tonight, I've just realised that I can't because I have to get a new windscreen fitted to my car at half 8 on Saturday morning Sad

Might come up after that though depending on what time they finish it.

Mark, if its Autoglass (or similar) it'll take under an hour. the weather looks better in the afternoon anyway. You driving up? I'm not sure you can drive straight away after having the windscreen done; if not, I'll see if our car's free.

Bill, thanks for the offer, but I've already got a curry on the go down here.
