The Best Donut in the World

By Mark on Friday 5 September 2003 at 18:16

After years of searching, I have discovered The Best Donut in the World (yes, I know it's the American spelling, but it's Friday evening, and I really am that lazy that I can't be bothered to type the extra few letters).

Available now from Julie's Hot Bread Kitchen in Newton Abbot, these beauties are filled with custard, and have a thick layer of chocolate on top.

They rule, and will probably kill me.

That's some fine looking confectionary right there.

Ever tried it with caramel on top (instead of chocolate)? Really works with the custard; I sometimes find the chocolate can overpower its creaminess.

Talking about this is too much. Must go to the Bakery right n...

Yeah, they do the caramel-topped ones as well. I haven't tried them yet though...
