One Sentence(ish) Album Reviews 2

Welcome to another issue - bet you thought I'd lame out and never do another one of these, huh?

Vampire Weekend - Vampire Weekend

Somewhere between Cajun Dance Party, a quieter Strokes, and the Specials (if they'd grown up in the Congo)... listen to single 'APunk', it'll all make sense.

Prince Far IPrince Far I & The Arabs

It's dub.*

Mirah - You Think It's Like This But Really It's Like This

I fell asleep and had nice floaty dreams after three songs so I may add to this review later. Or maybe I don't need to.

New Young Pony Club - Fantastic Playroom

Infectious dancey new wave pop; 'singing' is probably the wrong word for the vocals but they suit it perfectly.

Jakobinarina - The First Crusade

Fast, tight and catchy; frantic indie-punk sung by what I initially thought was the Icelandic version of Lurch from The Addams Family.

* By which I mean: fantastic, but if you don't have a munting great subwoofer it just sounds like two men fighting with sticks. In a canyon.

Do 'New Young Pony Club' have anything to do with 'Neil Young and Crazy Horse'?
