Adventures Down Under

Just got in to Brisbane having spent the last week or so doing some real hardcore adventuring.

Spent a few days on a maxi racing yacht - did a bit of sailing, bit of snorkelling, bit of beach action and a fair bit of drinking (that stops you noticing how much the boat is rocking, so I can put that down to “medicinal purposes”Wink.

Then we travelled down to Fraser Island with a full-on Toyota LandCruiser 4WD monster (somehow, I ended up with a van full of girls much to the envy of some of the other groups) and really caned round mere tracks in the sand and a bit of jungle/forest.

The lakes on the island were amazing, all freshwater and clear as day. Anyway, got to go now, I'll post again later...

'Medicinal purposes' eh? I've used that one before.

I'm jealous, I could really do with a break! Ah well, next year maybe....

Keep us posted!

Wow, sounds and looks wicked!

But what gets me is the student - who by definition never has any money - can afford to travel to the other side of the world and we're left at work...

Not that i'm jealous or anything Wink

It's OK guys, you can curb your jealousy as I am off home today, and no-one should envy a person who has to sit in a chair that's far too small for 24 hours. Just had a wander round the SouthBank ParkLands in Brisbane (which was splendid) and am now waiting for the bus to the airport.

We went to Australia Zoo yesterday - unfortunately Steve Irwin wasn't there, but it was still amazing, especially the crocodile demosntrations, where they tease a croc in to snapping at them with a huge peice of meat. Superb.

But if you really want a long break, I seriously recommend you don't overlook Australia.

Finally got home after a flight that wasn't too bad after all. Either I've shrunk while I've been away or Singapore Airlines have made their seats bigger.
