I'm trying to learn to touch-type after 10 years of using computers. My current method of typing is a strange hybrid method somewhere between one-finger and slapping the keys with my palm, so I thought it about time to try and force myself to do it properly.
Now, you'd think that someone who's been typing every day for the last four years would have tried this earlier, but the truth is I'm just too lazy. It's frustrating because I can actually type a lot faster when I do it wrong, so forcing my hands into seemingly contortionist-bothering positions while coding is very hard, and I find myself subconsciously lapsing into old habits without even realising.
In an effort to batter correct touch-typing technique into my brain, I decided to download a freeware typing tutor, which is very good, but I feel I need something industrial-strength because my bad technique is so burned-in.
If anyone can recommend a decent app to help me out, please get in touch or post a comment.
