The Muzak is Back

I've been getting back into making music since I moved house. At my old place, I didn't really have the room for any decent monitor speakers (let alone the peace and quiet to actually hear what I was recording).

I've splashed out on some nice floorstanding speakers and a decent amp to replace my lowly 70 quid Panasonic mini system, and the difference is amazing. I haven't really been able to listen to music properly (i.e loudly) for the last four years, and I'm beginning to realise how much I love it. I can run Cubase through the new setup too; the bass response is incredible, meaning I can finally hear those rumbling sub-basses instead of just a series of clicks…

It's weird though; I can remember when we used to record songs by putting an old ghetto blaster in the middle of the room and pointing all our amps at it… whereas now I have a complete 24 bit digital recording studio, and it's all contained inside my PC.

I'll put some new tunes online when I finish them. Hope my new neighbours like drum n' bass…
