A small gripe

Just a little mini-rant for you all - companies using totally irrelevant information to try and make things seem better than they actually are.

Here's an example - I'm in the market for a new telly. While searching the web, you invariably see this kind of thing:

“MegaCo 28 inch Widescreen TV (visible screen size 26 inches)”

So it's a 26 inch telly then. Why on earth would I be interested in the 2 inches of tube I'll never see?

Another one cropped up while comparing ADSL ISP's:

“External IP Addresses: 4 (2 usable)”

Well, great. Those 2 extra unusable IP addresses are really selling it to me guys...

We're not idiots. That's all I have to say on the matter...
