Fireworks

By Mark on Wednesday 16 August 2006 at 10:18

Rachel, Sarah and I went down to the first night of the British Fireworks Championships on the Hoe last night.

Luckily it stopped raining for the whole show so I got a few pics... well, about 200 actually, due to my tried and tested method of 'taking fucking loads then picking the best ones which you managed to fluke'.

So yeah, they're launching 55,000 rockets at once tonight, to try and break the world record.

Everybody duck...

Edit: I've just put a load more pics of Kate's up too, courtesy of Mr B. Cheers.

Thanks for letting me come along and watch a master at work Mark! Of course I may still not forgive you for making me climb Everest to get decent shots! Remember this important formula when taking me on day trips - Klutz + Big Hill = Bad Idea.

Very nice pics, Mark.

Hang on, there don't appear to be any people in the photos. How do we know you didn't just stay in and post some screengrabs from iTunes Visualiser?

Even supposing that there were people who could fly, do you really think they would choose to hover directly over the point where thousands of pounds of gunpowder were being fired into the sky?

Isn't that right Bill.

On the mend, cheers. Should be back to footy in a few weeks. Really shit me up though, last time it hurt that bad I was off for a month. I was back to work today; rode my bike in so its obviously not that bad. Just got to not cane it for a bit. All the twisty-turnyness of playing football isn't very good so I'll “rest up”.

Are you referring to my comment that I only have one clever friend... or are you suggesting I'm thick?

Certainly not. You've got a degree and everything.

And now I'm going for a fry-up.
