Last night a few of us went out for a few drinks for Andy's birthday, so I was expecting to feel a bit rough. I woke up at about 6.45 and just didn't feel tired, so I got up.
It's strange; usually I struggle to drag myself out of bed, but since I've moved I think I must be sleeping better. It's less dusty, less noisy and I have a lot more space in my room, all of which must help. It was good to have half an hour to relax in the morning, as opposed to getting straight up, having a shower and running out of the door. I felt more refreshed when I got to work, too, despite having less sleep.
So, the moral of the story is: go out drinking every night. It's good for you.

Are you sure you weren't just still drunk?
There is a phrase often used here in the North-West, when someone is in work (or just up) really early, they are asked: “what happened, did you shit the bed?" Makes me laugh every time. (Don't worry, I pretty certain you didn't, Mark.)
But thanks for the advice anyway, I'll be sure to follow it to the letter.

I may well have still been drunk. In fact I don't think I ever entirely sober up...
