British Gas added to the 'Companies that SUCK' list

Had a day off today cause our gas meter had to be reset. Here's how my day went:

9:30ish
Rang British Gas to confirm that someone was coming round to reset the meter, cause we also had another letter after that one saying we didn't need to do anything. The guy didn't seem to really know what I was talking about and just read the letter back to me. Eventually he said there would be someone coming round between 8 and 12, like the letter said.

12:45
Rang British Gas again and was told by a spectacularly unhelpful woman called Maureen that the times were 8am till 1pm, not 12 (even though that's what the letter AND the first guy said).

2pm
Rang again, this time to be greeted by someone who actually seemed to know what they were doing; he checked and said they didn't have any appointment booked for that address and would I like him to arrange one on Monday.

GREAT.

So the result of all this is, I arranged it for next Saturday cause that was the soonest they could do it otherwise, and at least I don't have to have another pointless day off when they balls it up again.

What a shit way to waste a days holiday. Do you still get people knocking on your door asking you to switch suppliers? We do up here, it's annoying how they always know to knock while I'm eating my dinner. The twats.

What got me was at the end of the last conversation with British Gas (the one where they basically told me they'd wasted my whole day due to incompetence), the guy actually asked me whether I'd like to switch my electricity supply to British Gas too...

I think you can probably guess what my answer was. Wink
