In a moment of contemplation last night, I was thinking about what constitutes being a “grown-up”, and whether I was. I came up with plenty of points against it...
But there's some strong evidence to indicate otherwise...
That last point was the real clincher, but as a compromise I decided that I have an appropriate level of “grown-up-ness”.
Everything has happened so steadily, its only when you step back and look at how far you've come and how things have changed since, say, leaving school. And that doesn't feel that long ago. I don't know why I don't want to think of myself as a grown-up, but I don't.
I can't apologise enough for how cliched that all sounds, but it really got me thinking.
(Please tell me I'm not the only one who has thought this about themselves...)

is the estate diesel a volvo?
yes your OLD - no there's still hope
but seriously growing up is cool if you still feel young. half the stuff i've got now i wanted as a kid and the other half i didn't know about!
it's women that have to worry, they lose their childish streak at the age of 14 whereas men can be childish for their entire lives. plus when women get old they look like muton and men just look distinguished...

I too listen to Radio 4... John Humphries rules as an interviewer!
Yeah, we've all thought about it; you're not alone there. But I don't think it's a bad thing. I mean, when you think about it, everyone we know has done pretty well for themselves.
The only real differences between now and when we were at school are that we have to drive a bit further to go out on the lash with each other, and when we get there we can all afford better alcohol.
Even the diesel estate is forgivable. But if you ever get a caravan I'll shoot you

Matt, I've converted your lists to HTML lists. Just load up that entry in the editor page to see how I did it, then you can use it again in other posts.

Mark, I can't get at this post in my “update” page - I think the topic has been attributed to you since its conversion.
Anyway, no chance I'll get a caravan. Ever. Maybe a Winnebago... And yes, come to Manchester. You too, Mr P. And anyone else too...

Aha! We found a bug!
Should be fixed now. I think this was why some of Bill's post were sometimes coming up as being posted by me too.

One of my Dad's friends had one like that...
He said it was great, except for the fact that he couldn't go any further down into Cornwall than Launceston (because either the roads were too narrow or he'd get stuck trying to go round corners).
