Wehey! Here's the first post over my new wireless network; I'm sitting comfortably on the sofa watching the build-up to the Champions League final as I type.
And, I can now use my laptop to stream music into the lounge from a central 'music server' - sweeeeeeeeet ![]()
Well, just had to get that out there. See you all soon...

I hope your laptop didn't distract too much from what was an epic game.
I meant to show you my latest purchase when you were round the other day - since the office (router included) has moved to the garage, I couldn't get any signal in our office/sitting room. A new antenna sorted it - 7.8dB gain; 1.5m cable; magnetic base; and its more than a foot tall. It sits on top of my PC and gets me 3/5 or 4/5 signal strength, where before I got none. Although it does make my PC look like a minicab.
But in my search for an antenna, there were loads of “how-to” articles for making your own directional “cantenna” out of a few fittings from maplin and a Pringles can.
Anyway, I hope the network security is tight - I also came across something called wardriving...

It was a wicked match - first time I've got really excited during a football game in ages!
And yes, I'm fully WPA-ed up - although when I took my laptop upstairs it seems there are several people in my road who aren't...
