A while ago (May last year, to be exact) I posted about an ingenious project aimed at bringing net access to a tiny village in Laos (The True Purpose of the Web).
If you thought that was clever, wait till you see the
MotoMen (There's some more about it here too).
The basic idea is that five guys on Wi-Fi equipped mopeds ride from village to village, and provide internet access as they drive past schools equipped with wireless networks.
How clever is that? It makes me realise how much I take internet access for granted as I spend my lunch hour looking at pointless crap over a 2MBit connection…
